Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on March 10 1949. She is an American investor as well as a speaker and consultant. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the business to NRT for $66 millions. In the following months she left the company. Corcoran is one of ABC's first Shark investors has been part of every episode of Shark Tank. In February of 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, with the biggest being a $350,000 deal that included 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child of 10 children born to an Irish Catholic couple of working class living in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence, her mother, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a multi-talented employee throughout the years of Corcoran's childhood. Her family sometimes relied on free food delivery from a nearby supermarket. Corcoran is still able to remember her father as someone who drank sometimes and treated her mother with disrespect. Corcoran was a struggle in school, and was later told that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was educated in an Catholic elementary school and then enrolled in high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran was proficient in a variety of courses during her freshman year. She was transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
