Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki (American political advisor) was the 34th White House secretary. She was secretary from 2021 to 2022. A member of Democratic Party, Psaki was previously the White House deputy secretary (2009), White House deputy communication director (2009-2011) as well as spokesperson for the United States Department of State 2013-2015 and White House communications Director (2015-2017). Psaki was an CNN political contributor from 2017 to 2020. Psaki began her career as an Iowa Democratic senator, Tom Harkin, and later became governor of Iowa. Psaki later served as the press secretary deputy for John Kerry's 2004 presidential election campaign. Between 2005 and 2006, Psaki served as communications director to U.S. representative Joseph Crowley and regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. In 2012, Psaki returned to political communications as press secretary for the Obama reelection campaign in 2012. [20] Psaki was named as spokesperson for the United States Department of State on February 11, 2013. [20] Her hiring at the Department of State fueled speculation that she could replace White House Press Secretary Jay Carney after he left the White House,[21] but, on May 30th the 30th of May, 2014 it was announced that Josh Earnest would replace Carney. She was appointed Communications Director at the White House and continued to perform this role until the end in 2015.
